Last Friday, the Centre for Taste and Feeding Sciences at the University of Burgundy Europe hosted an exceptional anniversary celebration: the 25th anniversary of the Experimentarium, a flagship initiative of the Experimentarium Network dedicated to fostering connections between scientists and the general public.
For 25 years, the Experimentarium has been making research accessible to everyone through direct interaction with those who bring it to life every day. Curiosity, knowledge sharing, and collaboration were at the heart of this festive and convivial evening.
The event was opened by speeches from Vincent Thomas, President of the University of Burgundy Europe, and Marie-Hélène Juillard-Randrian, representing Nathalie Koenders for Dijon, both the city and the metropolitan area.

The program for this celebration includes:
- “Speed searching” sessions, allowing the public to discover a wide variety of scientific topics in just a few minutes;
- an exhibition retracing 25 years of the Experimentarium’s history through photographs, posters, archives, and testimonials;
- numerous exchanges between past and present generations of participants.

The ICB Laboratory was proudly represented at this event, with several laboratory members who have contributed to the Experimentarium’s journey over the years. Among them, Kamal Hammani presented his research in optics and photonics to the public.
This anniversary celebration served as a reminder of how essential interactions between science and society are for sparking curiosity, fostering dialogue, and sharing research advancements with the widest possible audience.
Happy anniversary to the Experimentarium, and here’s to many more years of sharing science!
