As part of the “In the Shadow of Gestures” exhibition, which highlights the technical skills and artisanal know-how within the University of Burgundy Europe, the Mechanical Resource Center (CRM) of the ARCEN-Carnot platform occupies a prominent place. A true beating heart of experimental research, this workshop is an essential link in the design and creation of cutting-edge scientific devices.
A workshop at the service of science
The CRM is a space dedicated to the fabrication of custom parts for the laboratory’s researchers. Equipped with high-precision machines, it transforms ideas into concrete objects, bringing to life the scientific and technological concepts developed at the ICB.
Lathe operators, milling machine operators, and fitters work closely with researchers to design custom parts, adapted to the specific needs of experiments and experimental devices.
The workshop perfectly embodies the spirit of the “In the Shadow of Gestures” exhibition: a tribute to the expert hands that, behind the scenes, shape research and actively contribute to scientific progress.
