The Optica Society has just announced its list of Fellows for 2025. Among the 121 recipients from 27 countries, Philippe Grelu, professor at the University of Burgundy Europe and member of the Carnot Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Burgundy (Photonics Department), was recognized for his pioneering work in nonlinear photonics, particularly his in-depth research on dissipative solitons and dynamic instabilities in ultrafast fiber lasers.
The Optica Fellowship is a prestigious recognition awarded to researchers who have made major contributions to the fields of optics and photonics. The selection process is particularly rigorous, with only 10% of the society’s members receiving this distinction.
Congratulations to Philippe Grelu on this award, which highlights the excellence of the research conducted at the ICB!
