On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Robotics Valley Industry 4.0 Club brought together professionals at the Maison de la Métallurgie in Dijon for a meeting dedicated to technological advancements and industrial applications of powder metallurgy.
The event gathered around ten participants to discuss the opportunities offered by this key technology for numerous cutting-edge sectors. Following an introduction, Frédéric Bernard, Professor at the University of Burgundy Europe and head of the EQUIPEX+ CALHIPSO platform, presented the capabilities of this research infrastructure before offering a tour.
At the heart of the discussions, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), a technology that significantly improves material properties, as well as the fabrication of complex metallic objects, illustrated the considerable potential of powder metallurgy. These advances play a vital role in strategic areas such as aeronautics and energy, thereby strengthening the attractiveness of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in terms of industrial innovation.
