Are We There Yet? – Opening Reception

On April 17, 2025, artist Maëva Ferreira Da Costa inaugurated her exhibition “Are We There Yet?” at the Un Singe en Hiver bar in Dijon. This exhibition is the result of a residency at the ICB Laboratory, where the artist explored the connections between art and science.

A poetic quest between science and fiction

“Are We There Yet?” offers a reflection on our quest for origins and the limits of scientific knowledge. Through immersive installations, Maëva Ferreira Da Costa invites the public to question fundamental issues: Have we unlocked the mysteries of matter, the void, and consciousness? Have we arrived? At the end, or at the beginning? The works, oscillating between hope and resignation, envelop the public in uncertainty and reflect back to them their own condition as perpetual explorers, always searching for meaning, always on the move, never quite arriving.

A unique artistic approach

Two works resulted from his work in the laboratory:

  • Are We There Yet? – light installation
  • Drawing Plans – video installation, digital embroidery
