ICB is multidisciplinary, covering a wide range of topics from materials physics to optical engineering, with a strong focus on technological innovation and industrial applications.

Each year, it publishes over 300 scientific articles in renowned journals, further consolidating its international visibility.

A world-class infrastructure

ICB also benefits from outstanding technical infrastructure, with state-of-the-art equipment such as ultra-powerful lasers and high-resolution microscopes. It collaborates with over 150 industrial and academic partners worldwide, highlighting its influence and key role in the field.

In terms of funding, the laboratory relies on European and national projects, representing an annual budget of several million euros—a major asset for maintaining and developing its research activities.
