On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) invites you to watch the live broadcast of the 2026 FORTHEM Researchers’ Grand Prix final, hosted this year by the University of Opole (Poland).
For this event, nine early-career researchers from FORTHEM Alliance partner universities will take on an ambitious challenge: presenting their research topics in just four minutes—clearly, accessibly, and engagingly—to a broad audience.
A UBE representative on the european stage
Université Bourgogne Europe will be represented by Leya Liu, a third-year PhD student in chemistry at the Carnot Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Burgundy (ICB).
Selected following her participation in the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) competition, she will present her work in nanoscience. Her research focuses on developing innovative gold-based nanosensors capable of detecting bacterial endotoxins—substances involved in numerous infections and a major public health concern.
This international final will showcase excellent research conducted across FORTHEM Alliance universities while highlighting the scientific communication skills of young European researchers.
