Inaugural symposium of the Biomind cluster: a day dedicated to interdisciplinarity

On April 30th, the University of Burgundy Europe hosted the inaugural symposium of the Biomind cluster, dedicated to biomolecules and scientific interdisciplinarity. Held in the Claude Bernard amphitheater of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, this day brought together a broad scientific community to explore themes at the interface of biology, physics, chemistry, and health.

Coordinated by Patrick Senet, the event highlighted the diversity of approaches developed within the cluster, while also giving significant prominence to young researchers.

The day opened with a presentation by Nadine Millot, who emphasized the structuring challenges of research at the university level and the importance of interdisciplinary dynamics in the development of current scientific projects.

Highlights of the symposium included:

  • a plenary lecture by Dr. Ahmed Houz on the evolution of structural biology;
  • several scientific presentations illustrating the breadth of themes within the Biomind cluster, from health and agroecology to the environment and biophysics;
  • a poster session showcasing the work of young scientists;
  • and numerous networking opportunities to foster discussions and collaborations.

This inaugural edition officially launched the Biomind cluster while highlighting the diversity of research presented and the interdisciplinary synergies fostered by the participating teams.

The ICB thanks all the speakers and staff.
