Vincent Vignal is Director of Research at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS, France). He works at ICB, Dijon (France). He received his Ph. D. (1996) in Mechanical Sciences from the University of Bordeaux, France. He was a post doctoral researcher (JSPS fellow) at the Hokkaido University in Sapporo (Japan) in 1997-98. His primary research interests are in the degradation of materials, including passivation and localized corrosion of metals and alloys, relationships between microstructure corrosion – mechanical stress/strain. He uses global and local techniques in electrochemitry, mechanics and surface characterization.
